Ever finished a book and felt so empty longing for something just like it? That was me a few months ago.

I had just read First They Killed My Father by Loung Ung and Lady Tan's Circle of Women by Lisa See both powerful, moving stories with strong female leads navigating impossible circumstances. I wanted more books just like these ones.

So, I did something different.

๐ˆ ๐š๐ฌ๐ค๐ž๐ ๐‚๐ก๐š๐ญ๐†๐๐“.

I gave it a list of books I had loved โ€”

๐Ÿ“š First They Killed My Father

๐Ÿ“š Lady Tanโ€™s Circle of Women

ChatGPT responded with a curated list of emotionally deep, female-driven stories. Two titles stood out instantly:

Not Without My Daughter by Betty Mahmoody - which quickly became one of my all-time favourite reads.

The Sister: The Extraordinary Story of Kim Yo Jong, the Most Powerful Woman in North Korea, which is now on top of my TBR pile.

What struck me was how thoughtful the recommendations were. It wasnโ€™t a random list. AI picked up on themes of resilience, cultural depth, and complex women navigating adversity. It felt like a friend who truly โ€œgotโ€ my taste in books.
